 New USGA Stimpmeter for 2013

The USGA just released there newly designed Stimpmeter.  It is designed to have greater flexibility for added convenience when testing the speed of your greens.  One side of the stimpmeter is just as it has always been but new for 2013 is the added "2x" side for finding green speed in an area of your green that has previously been impossible due to not having a large enough area that is relatively flat for an accurate green speed reading.  With this 2x side you can test your green speed in a much smaller area.  The notch where the ball rests before rolling down the stimpmeter is placed lower on the meter reducing the distance the ball rolls before it stops.  You carry out the reading just as you had before except this time you multiply your distance by two to get your final speed reading. Now those greens where it had been impossible to stimp, or you had only one area where you could find a 8-12 foot flat area, can now you can accurately read in only a 4-6 foot range!  Click on the link below for the full article from the USGA and info on how to purchase your own.  New USGA Stimpmeter
